two unusual fics
Dec. 30th, 2002 04:49 pmJust found an unusual Buffyfic to reccomend.
I love explorations of walk-on characters, or shorts that explore the nature of the townspeople of Sunnydale themselves.
So here's two short rec's for you.
1. Aurora, by HonorH
::Before Dawn, there was the Key, and where the Key was, so was the Brotherhood of Dagon. What was she to them? Awarded an Honorable Mention in the Summer/Fall 2002 Halo Awards.::
I really liked this. It's a character piece for the final monk, who dies at Buffy's feet in season 5.
And the real kicker...
2. Alison by liliaeth
::Spike has to face the consequences of his actions in Smashed::
I loved this shortfic. A very very emotional piece on the unknown consequences of one's actions on people we don't think about, but whom we affect. Though it's not about Spike, in its indirect characterization of him it illustrates the difference between soul and souless, and somewhat brings to mind the alley conversation in Dead Things, even though this was written before that episode aired. Highly reccomended.
