I have so much respect for Senator McCain. I saw him being interviewed by Jim Lehrer, and I sat there wishing I lived in AZ so I could vote for him or send him baked goods (I make a mean brownie, lemme tell you... I use mint icing) or something.

And Dick Cheney is to my mind a bloated fool. A "man of vision," whose vision is formed by such a vain, wasteful, ignorant ideology (neo-con principles which lead to the wrongheaded planning & execution of the Iraq war, for which he and Donald Rumsfeld should be liable for wrongful death suits) that its stupidity is only surpassed by his strong belief that his goddamn ideas deserved to be backed up by his own special Inquisition of CIA bully boys who'll torture and rape in defense of it.

*pause* I'm going to say something nasty now.

Nobody in the world supports what he's asking for. Isreal, who lives in threat every single day, has made it illegal. Nobody in the civilized world wants or needs it. It isn't even within the realm of *sanity*.

He's a teenage boy asking for a freakin' semi-automatic weapon for Christmas so he can go mow down his fellow students.

If he wanted to put people through wood-chippers or whatever the hell, he ought to have found a small country and set himself up as dictator, not run for the Vice Presidency.

It literally makes me ill.
