1. 2. 3.

Three versions of the same icon, two of them with an third image. #1 is the lowest color count and resolution.

From the Buffy The Vampire Slayer episode "Lie To Me", a dialogue from the final scene.

Buffy: Does it ever get easy?

Giles: You mean life?

Buffy: Yeah. Does it get easy?

Giles: What do you want me to say?

Buffy: (looks up at him) Lie to me.

Giles: (considers a moment) Yes, it's terribly simple.

(They start walking out of the cemetery.)

Giles: The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are
easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we
always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody
lives happily ever after.

Buffy: Liar.

I originally was going to make the same icon with Sokka talking to the Northern Tribe leader, but I thought it would be out of character for the man after losing his daughter. Katara and Paku have a bit more distance from the situation. And yes, I'm a real television geek to analyze an icon to that degree of character detail.

I am such a perfectionist-Nazi, I spent over three hours editting 6 screencaps, then editing two of them even more to move both characters inward, then making an extremely wordy icon. Aaahhhhhh, procrastination! And my wrist hurts. >( But also Photoshop practice, which helps me for my day job. :)

Image 1: Paku and Katara

Original, with icon removed:

(Paku looks kinda armless there, huh? "I'm innocent; I was framed by the one-armed Waterbender!")

Edited:

Image 2: Paku and Katar facing each other

Original, with icon removed:

(I actually thought long and hard about how close I could get away with making them stand without it looking like he wanted to jump her.)

Edited:

Image 3: Katara close-up

(How does her hair not get caught on things when she leans over?)

And just for kicks, two more screencaps of Sokka & Yue's Father, with logo removed: one, two.

*Those of you with sharp eyes might have noticed that the first Sokka screencap has different height proportions to all the others. That's because it's a combination of two screencaps, for the dual purpose of helping to remove the logo and for capturing the both the sky and their shadows. In any case, it means less to crop off the sides I guess, when you're going for 100x100.

The icons are free to take as are the screencaps, original and edited. Gods knows maybe I'll save someone else the trouble of moving characters around.
