Wow, a busy episode.

Wallace! I didn't expect him back. Love Wallace. The actor looked... older, thinner-faced. Interesting.

I suspected that Veronica had a plan-- I also pondered with the idea that Duncan would be hiding in the back of his car. I'm pleased that I guessed it-- I was surprised by the stuff with the sleezy private eye, though. Was he working with them the whole time or just after Veronica gave him the note?

And... was that Duncan's SISTER running away with him? Wow. At first I thought she was just helping him go into Mexico but now that I think about it she must have been running away with him and the baby. I guess that means she knows who her parents are, now.

I love the way Duncan left. I hope he never ever comes back. I want him to disappear into the sunset with his daughter and lost sister and the sleazy private eye. They can, like, be a sitcom! And her name's Faith but her nickname will be Lillie and damn, babies win every time. Meanwhile back in Veronicaville it'll be Logan and Weevil... hmmm.... how can a girl choose?

The only part I didn't get was Kendell... did Duncan really sleep with her again? Did she just come over and shower because he asked her too and she had nothing better to do than give him an excuse to break up with his girlfriend?

Aaahhh... who cares! Duncan's run away and go figure, I finally like him just when he does. I want him to be happy with his kid in other countries, and Veronica to live her life without him, to move on and live longer and love bigger. Duncan may have been the love of her high school life but she wasn't Duncan's only love, and no sooner does his other love disappear than it is replaced by yet another: the child. And Veronica has lost him forever. The baby's the love of his life. Veronica probably lost him as long ago as their first break up, and all this time in between has been falling action and resolution.

Next up: Wallace episode! Whee!

I just left a HUUUUGE reply, and LiveJournal ate it. Stupid. To sum up:

Vinnie wasn't in on it until he got the note. Celeste really DID hire him, and he really WAS trying to find Duncan, until Veronica offered him more money. He told Duncan that he paid better than his mother...

Astrid (the blonde in the truck) isn't Duncan's sister. Trina was the prom baby. Astrid is just Celeste's assistant who doesn't like working for her, but needs the money.

I think we're supposed to gather that Duncan NEVER slept with Kendall. He called her, probably telling her he would (finally) get it on or whatever, because Veronica had to find her there (and Logan had to see) to spur on the breakup. Not that Kendall DID have anything better to do than shower...

Watch the next ep.! Now! :)

I'm pretty sure Duncan cheated on her the once with Kendell before Veronica even knew about the baby, but I haven't rewatched the episodes so I'm not sure.

Astrid (the blonde in the truck) isn't Duncan's sister. Trina was the prom baby. Astrid is just Celeste's assistant who doesn't like working for her, but needs the money.

But I thought Astrid was Celeste's illegitimate child (not the prom baby though), and that's why Celeste was paying her way through college? I'm pretty sure I remember that correctly.

Rob Thomas said (in some interview...I can find it later) that he would clearly indicate whether Kendall and Duncan slept together. I don't think that he was lying (he did shove her off of him in MMtF), and I don't think were meant to think Duncan was a sleazo cheater. He did get to ride of into the sunset...I figured that was part of his heroic exit, maybe?

Astrid isn't Celeste's illegitimate child. She was a five-second red herring. Celeste was never pregnant--she lied to Jake. Keith found the birth certificate that showed an unidentified baby was left at the prom, and Veronica had assumed it was Celeste's child. Later, she realizes (from the adoption lady) that Trina was the baby left at the prom, and Mary is her mother. Celeste was really only paying Astrid to work for her--Celeste only stayed because she needed the money for school. When Duncan came and offered money, she took it and helped. I guess she'd rather aid and abet than work for the dragon lady...

ASTRID only stayed. Not Celeste. Typo! :)

Or, Celeste could have had an abortion or something. They never actually explained. But there was no record of a baby under Celeste's maiden name, or under Kane, and the only un-IDed baby was the prom one. So there was no Celeste baby.

I don't even think I'm making SENSE any more! :P

I'm glad you remember then, because I'd gotten it in my head that she was his sister. Argh! Curse mystery shows. I forget the true parts and remember the red herrings!

Thanks for the explanation.
