first & last lines
Jan. 5th, 2003 04:47 pmOk I really liked this meme that everyone else is doing. Though I still have NO fucking idea what the word "meme" means, only a vague concept of its LJ-practical application.
Because I have 70+ fics in a bunch different fandoms, I'm only going to put up those ones for BtVS. That's minus the two single-chapter WIPs I have up and will never finish.
And just so you know-- I never claimed to be good at the poems. I write them is all.
First & Last Lines of Fanfiction:
[in order of creation date, first to recent]
Real As Morning
Don’t look at me like that.
I hope that you come out of it ok.
The Talent of Brooding Is an Acquired One
Sometimes I want to shoot myself.
Buffy, that was the sweetest dream I ever had.
Schism
lyric: I know the pieces fit
The gravesoil crumbled damply between his fingers, staining the pale, near translucent flesh a sickly dark color, like a bruising akin to the dark welts that were already fading from his body after the fall.
"I’ll see you tonight for patrol.”
lyric: And I know the pieces fit
Sparring
“I want to fight.”
Him and his stupid cornflower blue eyes.
Weirdest Thing Around
I step lightly as I leave the car, but as soon as I’m out, and both feet are on solid turf again, the airiness just goes out of me and I have to lean against the car door for support.
Probably, Spike. Probably.
One Step Down From Love
She twisted the short lock lightly around her forefinger, pulling slightly and then watching in gentle-eyed enthrallment as it popped back down into a curl again.
As her fingers swam caressingly through his hair, she conceded to herself what she had yet to acknowledge but both knew: that though passion was just one step up from lust, that it was also just one step down from love.
Column of Fire
She wasn’t sure how it had started, but now they were dancing.
She could always say it was just one dance.
Aftershock Reverberations
(my Dawn/Spike friendship fic...)
She swept into the dead man’s home with the sun on her back and a storm at her heals.
“If I can survive the trip, the same.”
moon and sun and something grey
(Spike poem)
fancy me with something grey
not that it matters to you.
Column of Fire
One Minute in the Life of a Vampire Slayer
Something broke inside her as she watched her sister step towards the vampire, chin down and still-innocent seeming eyes wide with piercing awareness.
Her vampire walked on knives no longer, yet in the minute of choice and change and paths taken and paths less traveled by he exercised free will to caress-- and not to kill.
Red Letter Partings
Home-manicured fingers quavered as they opened the folds of soft, over-handled paper.
After all, a friend had asked a parting favor of her.
A Long Time Coming
(Spike-Spuffy poem)
It’s been a long time coming.
And it’s been a long time coming.
(You know--- that whole idea of 'framing' seems a bit redundant there. -_- )
The Bitter End
(Buffy-Spuffy poem)
A bitter end’s my destiny
This bitter end I choose
Rebirth in Dust
The abomination croaked and rasped, clawing hands into dusty rock.
"It’s only after we’ve lost everything that we’re free to do anything."
Aquarius
Through the pane she watched the torrent pour, head against the glass, hair falling like another curtain that hid her countenance from harsh, wet world without.
Letting the door catch her weight, Buffy slid to the floor and wept, remnants of the deluge pooling around her.
Brick Red Blood
The setting was was so familiar, it might've been a memory.
Buffy woke up crying.
There ya go. :)
