Ok, in a recent conversation about personal favorite celebrity hotties, [livejournal.com profile] octopedingenue said she didn't know who Gavin Rossdale was, after I told her he was supposed to marry ME, dammit, not stupid pretty Gwen Stephanie... and the same year I finally turned legal! I want to cry.

No, anyway, I figure... better than explain, why don't I just SHOW. Visual aids are always best.

So come look at this pretty pretty wet man... and again
here, where he was in People magazine about 5 years ago...

And just because I think you all should appreciate him yumminess, and acknowledge that I had ( and still have) good taste with my first celebrity teenage crush, look at this.

And here's my favorite... cause, ya know... GAVIN.

Eep. Love the Gavin. And damn, why did I never see that Rolling Stone?

I was actually talking with my friend the other day about the reason Rock Steady bites so much. And we came to the conclusion that it's because Gwen Stefani is finally happy in a relationship. With Gavin. (Hey, who wouldn't?)

I'm a long time No Doubt fan, but I can't stand RS. Tragic Kingdom was all about her relationship with Tony Kanal (ND's bassist), Return of Saturn was all about her mini-breakup w/Gavin (which must have been pretty painful -- because those lyrics? Damn!) and Rock Steady is the crap that happened when they decided to get married and she was too happy to write good music.

I never knew my years as a Gwen/Gavin shipper (well, in my head) would culminate in this. Urk.

I liked no doubt before I fell in love with Bush, so I was kind of pleased about them getting together. But I know what you mean about RS-- it was the first No Doubt CD I'd bought since Tragic Kingdom (probably my most worn-out CD ever), and I was disappointed. I kept hearing the Nintendo theme to "Dr. Mario" in the background. I did like "Don't Let Me Down", though.

Ooh. You must buy Return of Saturn, though. It's so beautiful. There's some major heartbreak going on there. It's definitely a change from TK, but not in the Rock Steady sense. I listen to it when I'm depressed. Along with Moby, Dido, etc.

(Oh, btw, I got hooked on Bush because of No Doubt, actually.)

hm.... maybe I will. Is that the one with "A Simple Kinda Life"? I liked that song a lot.

::bows to an audience of clapping women, and a sprinkling of men::

Yes, yes! Thank you!

 I think Gwen Stefani is actually more of a celebrity than her new husband is, though they've been dating a few years now. I knew about them both separately, and then when I found out they were going out I was like "Oh, cool!" It's nice when your celebrity crush is, if not dating you, then at least dating someone ELSE you like. :)
