The feel of a soft hand sliding over his scar had sent him reeling; the last time a hand had touched his face was his father's. Though he didn't push her back like he had another brave girl who'd dared to touch him, Zuko's body went rigid in her arms, aware of only her travesty.
Katara felt the change in him, and slowly pulled her lips from his, leaning instead forehead to forehead. They breathed together for a century like that, and the whole time she did not lift her hands from where they rested.
