First off, I'd just like to say.... I TOTALLY CALLED THIS, NOVEMBER 2006!! YEAH! click here to see the VERY SPOILERY thing which I TOTALLY CALLED BACK IN NOVEMBER 2006.

Actually, I was a bit off, but 15% is a perfectly acceptable margin of error! If you round, I TOTALLY CALLED IT. To be fair, the actual number of people to exactly call it was 3% of the total, which just goes to show how bad our fandom is at guessing games.

But anyway, back to the good stuff. WHAT AN AWESOME EPISODE #$(*#&%*$&@!@@!!!#(!! I HAVE NO WORDS.

!(**%^@*(@%&*(@!!&)(@$)_#&!!!

YES I DO. BUT THEY MUST BE CAPPED FOR CLEAR AND PRESENT EMOTIONAL REASONS. AAHHH!!!

Say it with me!: Der... Der... DERRIGABLES! WOOT! DERRIGABLES! Why do zeppelins make everything better? This is a sincere question.

I called Zuko joining by episode 307, and if you round up that makes 310. And yeah he hasn't officially joined yet, but he made his declarations. Oh, and they were so good! He's actually very well-spoken when he's having a good day, isn't he? I'm so proud of him, especially about recognizing the Avatar's destiny as above and separate from his own. Is it weird that from a shipper perspective I am as excited about Zuko joining the gang as about Aang finally making a move? I mean, logically, one boy's mere presense is hardly equal competition to another boy's heartfelt emotional kiss on the eve of battle... but for some reason my shipper instincts are treating them as of equal importance. My geekiness is weirdly focused sometimes.

Ozai isn't scary. Why isn't Ozai more scary? (although I did love all the Azula graphic match overlaps) Maybe he's too pretty to be scary. He just... looks like some guy in heavy robes. Azula's way scarier. And how come Ozai was still surprised by the Avatar being alive? I guess Azula neglected that part in her revelations about the eclipse invasion. I half expected Zuko to confess and Ozai to go "I already knew that, biotch." This also confirms what I thought from the beginning, that Zuko should have gone immediately to Ozai and confessed after Azula lied, thus exposing her disloyalty.

Double-handed lightning! It's like riding a bike with no hands; not every ordinary frood can do it! I loved that attack and repel scene; it was beautifully designed, streaking across the screen like that, and with just the right camera cuts. They spared us a boring slow-motion moment of Zuko's remembering how do it or thinking of Iroh or anything sentimental like that; they just showed him getting blasted with a double lighting strike and sending it right back to the fucker. Yay Zuko! Way to tell off Popsikins. And that shot of you fly a derrigable at the end, why you haven't look that bishonen since your flashback episode, good for you boy!

Ursa killed the king! Ursa killed the king! ::cough:: I mean the Fire Lord! And she was banished for her MURDER MOST FOUL!
Yes, I have waited to type that.

Aang... Aang! I can't say anything. You're too good.

Azula, "And since you can't see, I'm going to tell you I'm rolling my eyes right now."
Toph, "I'll roll your head!"
Me, "Let's try it!"

I am guessing Suki is imprisoned somewhere? I suppose she'll meet the other prisoners later. Better than her being dead, which is what I had guessed before.

Hakoda: "Everyone who would normally sit at the kid's table for the annual harvist feast, get on the bison!"
Aang, Sokka, Katara: "Get on!" *dragging Haru by the shoulders*
Haru: "But, but I have facial hair! My own facial hair! My village doesn't have a kids table policy! NOOOOO!!!"

I wish Katara could have done more cool bending this time; this was more Toph's time to shine, given that Katara was tending to Hakoda.

I'm so excited for the rest of the season now! I think, with this awesomeness, I will survive until February. I love this show so much.

Re: Calling it: Yes, yes, you're very smart. Now shut up. XD

OMGEEZE I KNOW. I KNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW.

Zeppelins make everything better because the word itself is ridiculous and brings to mind crazy mad German scientists. Which automatically leads to Young Frankenstein, which is hilarious. Also they have some kind of intrinsic quality, probably tied to their "we look ridonkulous and yet are still capable of flight" shtick, that makes them awesome.

na, I think your shippiness is right on track. Me, I just want to see Katara handle her harem in the next episode. (Dude, did Teo crush on her? I feel like he did. Blargh. Time to hardcore marathon all three seasons over break, I think.)

It came out that Azula told Ozai that Zuko killed Aang, so that when the Avatar showed up alive again Zuko would be blamed for the failure. That was in the season opener, I think. I dunno. It was when Azula was all like "lol bathrobe and boobs" and Zuko was like "*insecure*" and the fangirls were like WOOT ZUCEST. Damn, Azula can be unfairly smexy. And you apparently knew that, but I guess Azula left it out of the invasion thing because she didn't actually know, and then if she did appear to know Aang was alive that would raise the question of why hasn't she done anything about it speaking of what happened to the scary eyeball guy? Oh, it will be awkward when Zuko's joined the Gaang and then they run into eyeball man again. Hahahaha. Also, Ozai is voiced by Mark Hamill, and even when he's being his most evil-voice-y he's still Mark Hamill.

I LOVED THE LIGHTNING. IT WAS SO PRETTY. PRETTY PRETTY PRETTY.

hahaha. Also, kudos to fandom for figuring that out a bazillion years ago (God, was it really over a year ago that we were watching the S2 finale?).

Yeah, how come Haru, who has obviously gone through puberty several times over, gets to go on the kids' bison, but Pipsqueak, who just happens to be gigantic and around the same age, stays behind? *still does not comprend*

*is patiently waiting for Katara to get her butt in gear*

GAH I MUST WATCH AGAIN AND SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON...

That's it, precisely.

Me, I just want to see Katara handle her harem in the next episode.

Me too. If they're still there when Zuko joins... that'd be basically 4 attractive boys within her age limit, counting Aang... though I think she might have some awkwardness. I don't know if its fair to say that Haru or Teo were crushing on her... certainly both boys she made friends with, and Haru she had a very personal conversation with, but as to crushing... neither boy repeatedly flirted with her like Jet did, and she responded to neither of them the way she responded to Jet.

Yeah, how come Haru, who has obviously gone through puberty several times over, gets to go on the kids' bison, but Pipsqueak, who just happens to be gigantic and around the same age, stays behind? *still does not comprend*

Size prejudice? (Though I'm sure Appa could have handled his weight for the initial get-away, at least... I mean realistically, an animal that size would barely feel anything less than 300 pounds.) Maybe it was because he didn't have parents there to pressure him to go, and so he could choose to stay behind and be the adult to The Duke's kid.

speaking of what happened to the scary eyeball guy? Oh, it will be awkward when Zuko's joined the Gaang and then they run into eyeball man again.

I didn't think of that! That will be funny.

Oh, Jet. How I miss you and Katara's clandestine relationship. Also, you make me think of the end of season 2, which I still love with almost all my heart aside from the parts that have been rededicated to DOBS.

(Was I the only one who was surprised when the episode names were being leaked and DOBS was on there as episode 10? I had initially thought of it as being at the end of the season--y'know, the big fight day and everything. I mean, I think it's awesome that they flipped that on its head with the failure, but there's still that sense of pain that aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh this was the perfect chance and they screwed it up! Also, what is the significance of the eclipse, in this new light? Hmmidty hmm hmm...oh, logical Avatar discussion groups, where have you gone?)

I figured it was the size difference as well. Still, it made me sad to see him stay.

I love how everyone found those episodes mind-blowing. I think the universal reaction was foaming at the mouth.

I *demand* an epic Katara water/fire battle before the end of the season! There's been one at the end of every other season, Katara must get her awesome scene! :D

YAY I LOVE SQUEE!

Um... for a long time? I'm not going to be a transient anymore, once I find a stable job. A year of floating from New Orleans to Missippi to the Midwest was enough for me for a while.
