I never understood before why people become workaholics, but now that I'm working 7 days a week and 12-14 hour days, it's kind of setting in. You just...do it. And keep on doing it. You don't think about anything else and this consumes your entire day and you know you've got another 50ish days left of constant work.

You have my sympathies there! I added a student worker job onto my course load this semester and, while it's not the same, I've discovered in myself just how much of a driven, tired machine with fixed eyes and grayed thoughts I could be.

I hope that, when you have time to decompress, you'll be able to have some time to chill out, hopefully celebrate a victory, and feel really good about it.

I'm proud of you and the work you're doing, and I hope it's enough to get encourage the people to use their votes to get our nation on a more positive path. There was a twentysomething lady signing students up to vote on campus today; at first I just said "no, thanks, already registered!" and rushed by but then I turned back and got to say, way to go, the youth vote is going to be vital. You ladies are doing really important work.

er, which isn't to say that you're jobs are equivalent! Because you're kicking butt directing things, which takes a lot more than being one of the people signing folks up, I just mean that I have the urge to make cookies for anybody working for the campaign right now. :)

Thank you for this comment--especially the last lines. I forwarded the last paragraph as a quote to my canvass director, because it cheered me up and I thought it'd cheer her too.

The people who say "thank you for asking though" or "you're doing good work out here" are really what make this rewarding, and I was surprised by how often people say it. I get on average more compliments than negative remarks, and while people often do a brush-off, outright rude comments aren't as common as I expected. So thank you for saying that to those women--trust me, it counted that you said it.

I'm kind of like that. Work may be exhausting, but it keeps me occupied and I don't need to make plans or anything. And precisely BECAUSE work is exhausting, it is easy to spend time off doing a hell of a lot of nothing much, which can be boring and even a bit frustrating.

I'm definitely being kept occupied

Time off. Ha! What is this "time off" thing of which you speak? That is troll logic.
