I never understood before why people become workaholics, but now that I'm working 7 days a week and 12-14 hour days, it's kind of setting in. You just...do it. And keep on doing it. You don't think about anything else and this consumes your entire day and you know you've got another 50ish days left of constant work.

Thank you for this comment--especially the last lines. I forwarded the last paragraph as a quote to my canvass director, because it cheered me up and I thought it'd cheer her too.

The people who say "thank you for asking though" or "you're doing good work out here" are really what make this rewarding, and I was surprised by how often people say it. I get on average more compliments than negative remarks, and while people often do a brush-off, outright rude comments aren't as common as I expected. So thank you for saying that to those women--trust me, it counted that you said it.
