Bones 1x19
Nov. 13th, 2008 12:14 amThis was only, like, the coolest episode of the whole show so far. i loved the setting (made me miss New Orleans), loved the fast-moving plot, loved the revelations of A and B plots. And the characters! So much juicy characterization here. For Booth, for Hodgkins, for Angela. Bones was the sane as she nornally is, but Booth was ALL KINDS OF CRAZY. He just swooped in there like a... I dunno, liike something, and proceeded to go all Mulder on her and totally overreact and yet also be her only advocate in a den of enemies. And he brought kegal back up, which kind of makes me love him even more. Booth thinks ahead, all the time, without fail. Speaking of loving characters, the last few episodes....I'm looking at how Booth reacts to Bones, and I'm thinking two scenarios:
1. Booth is an unusually loyal person who will go out of his way for friends and trusted partners, and worries about them on a Barney-Stinson scale level of neediness, possibly taking care of them to make up for not being able to take care of his child. This...isnt a very good theory, because Booth ignores everyone but Bones, and seems pretty socially well-adjusted.
2. Booth is totally, completely in love with Bones. And he doesn't know it yet.
I love shipping a ship where there is so much mutual professional respect and personal affection. They are so fucking cute. So, obviously, I'm favorite scenario #2. I feel like using my PT icon for this one. It seems to fit.

Date: 2008-11-13 11:06 pm (UTC)At least you didn't do what I did, which was watch episode 3x01 instead of 2x01! I spoiled myself A LOT without meaning to.
Here is hoping you get a job soon! (the closer to Reno, the better!)

Date: 2008-11-13 11:09 pm (UTC)Eventually my goal is to move back to the San Francisco Bay Area, where I grew up. I miss Northern California. That might not be for a few years, though. Still... if I get a good job I might be able to fly to Comic Con next year...

Date: 2008-11-13 11:49 pm (UTC)I want to see the iron man panel, too, if there is one next year. And Dollhouse will have already started, too! And the Dr. Horrible DVD will probably come out next year...

Date: 2008-11-13 09:00 pm (UTC)But as to your senarios, overall I feel(and root for) definitely 2! But really, he has absolutely no idea he's in love with her. Its quite funny. I mean you know it, and I know it, and everyone they meet knows it, but dear Booth just goes huh and never looks more deeply at it.
Also most of the relationships on the show, as you might notice, are by tv statndards surprisingly mature and adult. They hadle sex as an adult activity that they(various characters) enjoy and occasionally engage in without making it a huge emotional and romantic issue. Its an interesting presentation, which I quite enjoy.

BTW, Season 3 has only 15/14 episodes or so.
