So, apparently this episode was half written by you-know who.

And what did we get?

Rain!Spike. Need I really say more?

Also-- what does

There's serious juxaposition going on here... we see here that Spike immediately after turning is almsot exactly the same man regarding his personal relationships. His mother isn't.

And yet, he says that regaining his soul has changed him.

Buffy said he's not the same anymore.

Wood and Giles told her not to fool herself.

What is all this trying to say? That maybe Spike is the same man he always was-- but what Giles and Wood don't get is that he was William all along, not Spike?
