 Gosh, Joss really DOES love me!
Don't have a lot to say about Buffy. Some.

Love Giles; wonder why he was so pessimistic. Maybe he was just trying to be strait with Buffy about the expectations on her, but usually Giles is more sensitive than that. Though a big force in what shaped his whole life--including numerous friends, comerades, and coworkers-- was just recently blown up, and he's on the run with valuable documents and even more valuable, semi-bratty children played by girls too old to be 15-16, and and the world's going to end, and everyone's gonna die...

...so I guess it's understandable he's depressed.

Loved the flirt moment between SIT-pointy-eyes and Willow on the stairs, except isn't this girl suppposed to be somewhere between 15 and 17, if she hasn't even been CALLED yet? And Willow's 21. Ewww. That's like Connor and Cordy. Though I admit, the actress for SIT-pointy-eyes DOES look over 18, so maybe no one bothered to ask her age.

Since when are there a limited number of potential Slayers? Aren't they continually being selected, randomly, so the process goes on forever? And isn't it also true that the Watchers can't keep track of EVERY potential Slayer? After all, there was this whole character-arc about this between Buffy and Kendra, in season 2, as well as that year's finale episode? They'd found Kendra early, they hadn't found Buffy until after the fact.

So, what's the deal then? If the First can manage to knock down all the bottles (I mean SITs) before the first one hits the ground, no more will spring up in their place? Is there a window of time before new possible girls are born, and if you kill all the potentials AND the Slayer in that window, the Hellmouth will be scot-free?

Continuity. It's a word. A big one, I know, but the first three letters are easy to spell, making a dictionary a valuable tool here.

Note: I liked Andrew's whining about being good/bad/whatever, and don't think it was a waste of time. Think about what he said "I've got super ...redemptive powers...minus the redemptive struggle...of...epic...redemption."

Hello? Spike-redemption anvil, coming right for your head! The dual look at both Andrew!capture and Spike!capture is M.E. telling us that unlike Andrew, Spike IS good, Spike HAS been going thourhg a long epic struggle towards goodness & redemption, and that Spike looks better wet than Andrew does.
