Picked up a special Valentine icon from [livejournal.com profile] wisteria_, and just had to call attention to it.

As far as icons go... I just got a new account with an online storage site, so hopefully I'll be able to put all of my home-made icons up soon. In phases. Last time I tried this with a different host, and it didn't work at all.

::smiling:: Just saw this a few minutes ago. Such a pleasure.

1st Rabid wrote an excellent, wonderful little fic, set after First date. I adored it; made my heart ache for Buffy, made me smile, made me wish for more eps just so I could see if the show has a scene as good as this.

Fic: Leaving
Author: 1st Rabid
Spoilers: To "First Date"
Rating: PG-13
Summary: "This was just a little derivative scene inspired by the reaction of Wood and Giles and what Buffy said to Willow and Spike said to Buffy. And I am stealing from Into The Woods…'cause…I want to."

Happy valentines Day, lovers everywhere!

I just read this adorable Valentines humor fic, and I'll bet you'll get a kick out of it. It's slightly Spuffy but more just amusing. Excellent Spike voice, good season4 Buffy

Fic: Roses Are Red, Demons Are Dead
Author: Jane Davitt
Spoilers: mid-season 4
Summary: "When Spike tries to deliver a Valentine card to Buffy, he runs into some unexpected problems at the Slayer's house. Is Buffy grateful for his help? Well what do you think?"

ugh.

It really depresses me when I see a BtVS vid posted with a song that I've long wished to see put to video, only when I open the vid I find the vid-maker has used a cover version instead of the original. 'S down right sad.

Especially since 8 out of 10 cover versions of songs absolutely reek. Like, say, hearing 'Desperado' by a country singer, or a dance-mix version of great romantic ballads, or a dance mix version of 'American Pie', or 'Landslide' by a not-to-be-named-trio of blond female country singers who won't just shut up and go away. But, yeah, that's just my rant.

I've been trying to remember the title of this famous short story I once read in an English class. It was all about a sailor who crash-landed on this island owned by a rich madman. The madman turns out to be a professional hunter, who after getting bored hunting animals, decides humans make a more interesting prey. He releases them onto the island, and if they can survive a certain time (3 days?) they'll get a free pass out of there. Naturally, the sailor guy ends up being the next prey. I think the story was set in the 1800s or very early 1900s.

This sound familiar to anyone?

ETA:

Has there ever been a Mulder vid made to "Desperado" by The Eagles? Or, is there a large database of XF vids that I could scour in order to find it?

Cause that's such a Mulderific song.

Success!

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ipomoea, I found the story. I even found a place to read it online. It's called The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell. Good read.
