pics? help? spelling?
Jul. 17th, 2003 01:20 amI was reading chapter 19 of this fic (which I've already rec'd and quite adore) when I came upon this Wesley part:
He was deathly scared he would be pulled back in, and that was the last thing he wanted. He’d made himself a life in L.A.. Not an easy one, but a life nonetheless. Chasing an ex-vampire who’d been desouled was more his style these days than nattering with the internal bureaucracy of the Council.
"I’m going back to Los Angeles no matter what," he said suddenly. "You can go back to the Council and whatnot, but when we go to the airport, I’m buying myself a ticket and I’m going back."
It gave me a truly wicked triple-icon idea. Almost patriotic.
So, does anyone know where I can find some Wesley pics and some Giles pics?
I need especially BtVS season 1 Giles and season 3 Wesley, and then AtS season 3-4 Wesley, holding a weapon of some kind (even guns).
In what latter season episodes might I be able to find a pic of a snappily dressed Giles with a weapon?
Also, what's the proper way to spell "toting"? Like when you carry something. Is that correct?

People who write Gundam Wing / Sailor Moon crossovers, and pair Heero and Usagi together. And then in their author's notes or summaries claim that they're doing so because they hate Relena's character so much.
This makes no sense to me, because except for the maturity and intelligence differences, Usagi and Relena are basically the same. They symbolically represent the same thing, they serve the same function in the plot, they even have near identical relationships with their respective boyfriends/ love interests. Heck, they even both are blond princesses who one day rule the world.
And yet there's this unbelievable amount of people who cross those two utterly unrelated shows, and say that Usagi is meant for Heero because Relena's so horrible. Sometimes they pair Usagi with Duo instead, for variety.
And the really funny part is that almost the exact same thing happens with DBZ / SM crossovers, only in those Bulma is the bad girlfrien and Usagi is paired with Vegita... or sometimes Trunks or Gohan.
It's this absolutely strange and annoying yet weirdly fascinating trend, and I wonder at the fan psychology behind it. It's not just fangirls who write such fic, either, there's boys too.

I lost control, panicked, and smashed it with my folded cardboard Animatrix box!
And it has way more guts that I thought!
And it's legs are still kicking! Icky icky icky!!!!

EWWWWWW!!!! It's been a whole minute and it's STILL wiggling it's legs! I can see it's crushed and spilled bidy and IT'S LEGS ARE STILL MOVING!

3:33 am. 6 minutes. It won't stop kicking its legs in the sam, repetitive, utterly creepy kicking. I don't believe this.

3:37. 10 fucking minutes. the leg is still jerking. I think I'm mentally scarred.
3:39. This is absurd.
3:43. Ok, now I'm kind of impressed.
3:46. Going on 20 minutes. Maybe it's some kind of post-mortem-twitching thing. Like, it's muscle is spasming and is locked that way somehow.
3:52. That's it. If it's still kicking it's dumb leg when I finish reading my fanfic, I'm going to just go to bed. We'll see whose alive and twitching in the morning.
ah-HA! There it was! The very last twitch! 3:56 am. 29 minutes of post-mortem corpse movement. Mr. LongLeg, we are both annoyed and impressed. Good night.
