Oh, one of my faovrite Trigun episodes is on right now! #12 - Diablo !

Featuring:
creepy glowy-eyed Vash
sympathetic Meryl
freakishly insightful Milly
a something-possibly-a-severed-head in a paper bag
a jail-break
a disturbing flashback of the city of July
mass murder by the dozens
a cross-town chase scene on foot
a bank safe being blown up
a stand-off at sunrise

Introducing:
Monev the Gale
Legato...Legato Bluesummers...
a complete flashback of Rem
Vash's false arm w/ the second gun
yet-to-be-explained telepathic powers
Vash's "everyone who gets close to me dies" complex

EDIT: "If I shot him now, then you really would die. It would be wrong to shoot him, right?"

Oh, it gives me shivers! I'd forgotten how much I liked this episode. I think it's my favorite, behind episode 24 and episode 23. Which is ironic, actually, because in episode 24 Vash faces the exact same moral question, and his repsonse is so much different, because he has been so far changed by his encounters with the Gung Ho Guns.

Yep, with this episode we have officially left the funny land, and entered the world of space-western supernatural melodramatic tragedy.

Trivia of the day: It is infact unhealthy to live your entire life trying to fullfill the memory of someone who died a long time ago. Break away, Vash, break away.

I remember something like this before a year ago when I first joined LJ, but I never filled it out and I lost all the questions. So here's my version.

Showering makes everything feel better. Still not talking, but am feeling clean and ready to deal with the infant.

It's here! It's here!

MY NETFLIX LORD OF THE RINGS DVD IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
timepiececlock: (lightning struck my brain)
There's so many beautiful, eloquent lines in this film. But you know what my favorite line is?

"Wraiths! Wraiths on wiiiiiiiiiiiiings!"
timepiececlock: (spike sold the world)
Dudes, I need a career where every day I can say: "I threw down my enemy and smote his ruin upon the mountainside."
timepiececlock: (shawshank redemption)
I think the shot wherein the princess Eowyn strides out the castle doors, and looks out over the plains as the horses approach in the distance, and the flag wavers in the wind and rips away... is the single most beautiful scene in this film. And the music! I adore the theme music for Rohan.

meme poem instructions I'm too late for:

Gakked from [livejournal.com profile] nwhepcat:

5:00 p.m. Eastern time -- post a single line of poetry in your LJ.

No mood or title or music.

Then watch a purty poem unfold on your friends page.

(Hoping things don't get busy here at 2:00 p.m.)

when sun is gone and moon is dead
timepiececlock: (the scientist)
From the friends list... oldest to newest

my equisite corpse poem

as in sleeping-drink spices
i sing of Olaf glad and big
love like shrapnel drenched in heart's blood
when sun is gone and moon is dead
With the yellow and the purple and the crimson keeping time
Sometimes I swear to god I was not meant to be a mother.

friends' friends:

They took some honey, and plenty of money Wrapped up in a five pound note.
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;
He is all pine and I am apple orchard.
in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me,
I have lost a telephone With your smell in it
Trees leaning into the wind, holding back the tide
there are questions you need not answer
Since there's no help, come, let us kiss and part.
let the wenches dawdle in such dress
when sun is gone and moon is dead *
And play the mother's part, kiss me, be kind.
I have done one braver thing than all the Worthies did
If my eyes are actually more closed than open, why am I still here

*My line was from LotR: The Two Towers, and Gollum.

An interesting page about how much each of our last 4 presidents has lied:

I love it when Aragorn and Theodin are having their little macho contest, and the camera keeps going back to Gimli, who's sitting there eating and drinking, cool as a cat and quite pleased to watch the silly humans buck it out while he just enjoys his meal.
timepiececlock: (lightning struck my brain)
Yesssss. Fanfiction.net added "Luna L." to their Harry Potter character filter.
timepiececlock: (fields of gold)
Music:

I'm listening to Eva Cassidy sing the Sting song "Fields of Gold," and I almost am going to start crying. I never cared much at all for the song when Stine sung it, but this version, which is almost acustic, is moving.

Now I love my [livejournal.com profile] savaa icon even more.

***

MTV tomorrow:

Justin Timberlake, Kelley Clarkson, Eminem, and Johnny Cash. Someone shoot me now.

Is there any reason I should subject myself to watching the videos I hate win? A Johnny Depp or Ewan-McGregor shaped reason? Anything?
timepiececlock: (you blur everything)
I think I'd like to make a Buffy/Spike-ish post-chosen icon to these lyrics:

I'll get over you; you'll wonder who I am
And there's this burning, like there's always been
I've never been so alone, and I've
never been so alive

And I would do it. Except, so far I've been dramatically lazy, and all my pictures (and a half-finished songset to "Into the Void") are saved on a disk, not on my comp, and I have yet to upload them. Sad, ne?
