I love my cousins husband. He's so sweetly immature. Look at what he sent my mom:

For the naturally sexy ladies (and crossdressers) of LJ, happy boob christmas!

I don't currently have voice mail. I think I should set it up for my cell phone. Here's what I'm thinking I might say:

"If you've called for Sara, welcome! If you have not, my condolences. Chances are that I didn't pick up the phone because I'm sleeping, working, or otherwise spending my hours killing the Uruk-Hai that roam freely about San Jose. If you do not leave your name, number, and general purpose after the beeping noise, know that you have elected the way of pain." .beeping noise.

Thanks to peeps at Cumbling Walls forum, this is composer Robert Duncan's site where you can download the score to Buffy Season 7:

I'm listening to what I believe is the "Buffy & Spike love theme" (officially so labelled by composer) right now. Wow, it's all pretty and stuff. ::sniffle:: I'm not being petty, but I really think it is prettier than the B/A theme. More majestic and deep, too. ::happy sigh....::

And I think it was a shame they had to cut many of these scenes, especially since some of them, like Gandalf's conversation with Aragorn, help to clarify in an overarching sense where the story is at that point, and why they are going to Rohan.

The cutting of some of the scenes, especially the funeral and the end of the Sam-Frodo-Gollum cooking lunch, changes how the audience persceives the passing of time in the story.

Of all of the extra scenes so far, I think I would most have liked for the Aragorn/Eowyn stable scene to have been included. It adds a whole new dimension to the next A/E scene, where she has the sword, and elaborates on that subplot.

Now, on to disc two!

iconism

timepiececlock: (PotC- poem by John Masefield)
GIP. So this icon that I've had for two or three days is my own, my precious. :P I made it using this poem:

Sea-Fever

I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by;
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking,
And a gray mist on the sea's face, and a gray dawn breaking.

I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull's way and the whale's way, where the wind's like
a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover,
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over.

-John Masefield

This has been one of my favorite poems since around 11th grade, I believe. I can relate, you might say. In a big way, though my experience with boats has been the smaller sizes, not tall ships. But definitely relate. I used it with the Jack icon (edited very carefully by me, so there shouldn't be any others like it), after seeing a gorgeous wallpaper that used the entire first verse, along with a movie quote.

I should be putting up some more PotC icons soon...

OMG! The stew scene! The stew scene! That's SOOOO cute!

Damn they are so my OTP. In this one instance, Tolkien messed. He should have gone with his original idea. ::sigh...::
