Smells Like Teen Spirit by Dokaka : This is the weirdest and funniest song I have ever heard. Imagine Chip & Dale joining Donald Duck in a chorus of unintelligable noises that somehow play out the entire musical range & vocals of Nirvana's first and most famous single.

It sounds pretty stupid, I know (and it kinda is), but just listen to it. If you were raised in the 90s on alternative music and have been told all your self-aware life that Nirvana changed music, you'll start to crack up in a bad way, because there's nothing like a good parody of something you adore. I think the late Kurt Cobain would probably think it was hilarious too.

The Picard Song by Dark Materia : Captain Jean Luc Picard quotes put to music. Kinda like that Dust Brothers song on the Fight Club soundtrack, but funny.

My heart is breaking. The tragedy, it cuts deep.

I just discovered Lupin III and in 5 weeks I'm moving to a dorm where I probably won't have cable tv with which to catch it.

I'm! in! pain!

Someone give me a hug.

I'm looking for some music by Modest Mouse. Specifically, that single on the radio right now. I hate the guy's voice but the music is so easy to sing along to that I want it.

Does anyone know anything about them, or can give a mini-review of their album, or anything?

I got Naruto volume 4 and Fruits Basket volume 5 this afternoon at the local comic store. Just finished reading Naruto.

I love Naruto. I mean, I've mentioned that many times before, but I just love this series, whatever form it takes.

I like how they call the groups cells instead of teams. Whether or not it's a closer translation to the japanese word used, it's a more descriptive translation of the actual function of the ninja groups as described in Narutoverse. Cells are teams, but it's a more specific meaning, denoting the group's ability to act independant of higher supervision and the more militaristic, guerilla-like nature of the ninjas of Narutoverse. They're not teams of athletes, they're cells of trained militia.

I liked the way the Kakashi/Iruka argument about the chuunin exams went in the manga-- it was just a little bit longer, and Kakashi seemed more considerate at first to Iruka instead of just being a hard-ass from the start like he is in that scene in the anime. Although, Kakashi is cool because he is a hard-ass. That's why he's Kakashi.

The flashbacks to Haku's history were much shorter and more concise here-- it flowed better that way too. In retrospect from much later in the storyline, I like the final Wave Country battle not just for it's coolness but because Haku is such a precursor to Gaara. Both much stronger than Naruto, yet so much like him. Of course, Naruto relates to Gaara more than Haku for obvious ::coughdemonsealcough:: reasons, but Haku had that orphan thing going that was more like Naruto than Gaara, who wasn't.

Later, it's onto FB #4. Mmmm... Shigure on the cover!

Now the question of the evening:

How much manga can I pack to take to my dorm?
