timepiececlock: (Sasuke's impression of Neji)
My immediate episode 2 reaction (spoilery only for #2) :

Well, episode 2 was better and more interesting than episode 1. I found episode 1 interesting as well, but this just added to that. Also didn't feel as slow as episode 1. It was just as weird and just as insidious, though.

I got seriously cracked up by hearing Vash's voice come out of the snotty kid. It was good casting though-- he sounded young enough, and did excellent job with the acting. Actually, so far I've liked all the VAs in this, from a purely dub perspective. Don't know how it compares to the sub.

Now, onto the theories and predictions!

What we know so far:

-Tsukigo was the first woman attacked
-she was being hounded by the second victim, the sleezy journalist
-she probably had some connection to the fourth victim, Ichii, in the past
-either the evil force controlling her stuffed doll OR her psychopathic subconscious wants her to ignore the possible connection to the boy
-the third victim wasn't connected to the journalist or Tsukigo (that we know), but he was connected to the fourth victim, Ichii.
-so far there's no reason to think there's a connection between the journalist and either of the two boys
-the end credits appear to show the victims lying in a circle in the order they were / will be attacked... starting with the first four victims, going counter-clockwise.
-the future victims will most likely include the old woman who witnessed the attack, the two detectives, and Ichii's tutor (as seen in the end credits).
-in the center is the pink dog / stuft doll thingy, looking menacing. It's obviously connected to the first victim, Tuskigo.
-cute detective guy is obviously last to be attacked. He'll probably figure it all out just at the last minute, then he'll be struck down too. Poor cute detective guy!
-the order of attacks parallels the opening credits as well, in which the first four characters are the first four victims.

my guesses:

a) this is a game or a prank where the attacker intentionally raises public hysteria, picks his victims from some obscure or random order connecting them, and arranges to make it look like it is more mysterious than it really is.
(The Scully Thoery)

b) there's something supernatural going on here, and it is probably drawn to strongly negative emotions like fear, hatred, anger, frustration, greed.
(The Mulder Thoery #1)

If it's option b, then the pink dog doll thingy is probably either evil or possessed by something evil.

Or...

c) This is all happening because of Tsukigo, and her unrealized mental powers manifested themselves in the evil talking doll, and she is unconsciously making all this happen. She's controlling the situation and doesn't realize it, or whatever is controlling the situation is reacting to her mental state/ subconscious desires.
(The Mulder Thoery #2)

... This series so TOTALLY needs X Files crossover fanfic.

[livejournal.com profile] mswyrr kindly uploaded the tv movie of Dr. Who for me. Yep, this is the 8th Doctor. I agree with her review of the movie---basically that it's worth watching cause the 8th Doctor is adorable, but the rest of the movie is kind of super-crappy.
