Watching Edward Scissorhands for the first time tonight

"Well, a long time ago, an inventor lived in that mansion. He made many things, I suppose. He also created a man. He gave him inside, a heart, a brain, everything. Well, almost everything. You see, the inventor was very old. He died before he got to finish the man he invented. So the man was left by himself, incomplete and all alone."

"He didn't have a name?"

"Of course, he had a name. His name was Edward."


And just like that, I'm reminded of the interview I read that said Edward Elric of Fullmetal Alchemist was named after Edward Scissorhands. And I smile.

45:00 - I had no idea this movie would be so funny. Of course, I have had half a bottle of wine in the last hour and half. That might make it funnier. Still... it's going to break my heart, isn't it?
