timepiececlock: (Origin of Love)
Tennant's hair is unusually spikey and bouyant this season. It's almost...bishounen.

No...no, it's DEFINITELY bishounen.

4x03 - "Planet of the Ood"

Look at Ten's hair! It's even longer and spikier in front than last episode. It's so anime-spikey, which is odd because I totally do not expect that kind of thing.

"You've got a box, he's got a Ferrari." Ten's pouty face that the TARDIS being dissed is cute. Read more... )

Yeah, I don't like those car nav things either. Read more... )

I liked it. Quite a bit. The last "surprise" was pretty hokey and made, like, no sense in the mythos of the show itself, but hey! I love a good happy ending and this one was a nice set-up for future adventures.

So far, this season is way better than season 3. I might even like it more than season 2. No dud episodes, decent to great acting, fun all around. Huzzah! Let's hope it keeps up.

And I know it's probably a terrifying thought to stuffy old-school Whofans and people who hate Original Characters and Mary Sues and all that... but, seriously, in my head I can imagine all these wacky adventures of the little NotQuiteTimeLord running around rescuing civilizations and doing dangerous miraculous things, flitting about like an energizer bunny on steroids. She would be so fun and so active that it'd be downright alien. Plus, given her military-minded education, she could have all sorts of comic misunderstandings when it comes to finer details of social interaction. And she could have, like, a little alien monkey sidekick. Because a) monkeys are always funny, and b) monkeys are flexible and creative and manic and curious. Except this would be an alien monkey, so it'd probably have three tails or something, and look "fugly cute".

And then whole crazy fun adventures would take on a decidedly Farscapian whackiness.

Of course, I don't really want to watch a tv spin-off about that. I don't even think I want to read fic about it. But that's the canon in my head for Jenny's future. My brain can perfectly imagine all those things happening just off-screen.

ETA: "The Unicorn & The Wasp" - Wish there had been an actual unicorn, but otherwise: awesome!

Interesting. Hm... I like this episode a lot. I like how they're doing it, and I like that the story is still going into a second episode. I like that it's in a library (whee!) and I like all the meta that's happening, particularly with Little MainFrame Girl and now with Donna too.

::watching the promo for 3x10:: Sometimes I wish it weren't so obvious that Doctor Who is a series of white room scenarios one after another after another.

Apparently... The Time Traveler's Wife is going to be a movie?

How did I not know this?

Also... Eric Bana! Love him. But...not who I would have cast. Eric Bana is a big guy. Big shoulders, big muscles. Henry is a runner. Henry is lean and stressed and spends all his time running obsessively because it's the only way he can survive his experiences. I imagined someone more of the lanky body type for this role. Someone like, hmmm, like David Tennant's body but a young Harrison Ford's face.
