Date: 2003-07-02 04:21 pm (UTC)I'm new to LJ. just passing through & wanted to add my 2 cents about PDL. I was ranting about it just a few days ago in my LJ.
It's a strange film isn't it? It's cathartic to see this extremely tamped down individual start to own up to and own his own anger. On the other hand, I found the whole thing a rather unpleasant exercise. To make matters worse, my DVD player couldn't handle the 6.1 Dolby encoding, so the already over-the-top funhouse soundtrack was BLARING over all of the dialogue. Ugh.
So yeah, I can't say I'd recommend it.
Give Adaptation a try.
Oh, and isn't Netflix the best thing EVER?!

Date: 2003-07-02 08:49 pm (UTC)I actually got PDL from local Hollywood Video chain, and have been using Netflix for anime rentals. But yes, it's the Best. Thing. Ever.
