I was reading Spin magazine today at the grocery store (which I weirdly visited 3 times in less than 12 hours), and a lengthy article on The Dashboard Confessionals labeled them an "emo" band. What is emo, as a music genre?

Which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Isn't all music emotional?
