Naruto

So far, actual canon says the following:

Hinata has a crush on Naruto; Naruto has a crush on Sakura; Sakura has a crush on Sasuke; and Sasuke doesn't have a crush on anyone, and isn't likely to any time soon.

Well, I've only seen 13 episodes, but I spent several hours today looking at fanfic. And I've figured out this: Most fanfic is yaoi/slash: Naruto & Sasuke. Het ships are less common, but they typically run Sasuke & Sakura, and Naruto & Hinata.

Which is a bitch, because that means there's barely any Naruto/Sakura, and I have already, though I tried not to, developed a bias for that ship in my head. Because I want Naruto to be happy, and that means Sakura, and I want Sakura to be happy, and I really think she'd be happiest with Naruto--- mostly because every time they show the "inner Sakura" raging, she behaves just like Naruto does. She's a lot like him--- she just is better at faking it.

Of course, it would be typical that in my new beloved series my pairing would be scarce and hard to find, even if it has as legitimate a claim to canon as the other ships.

The best news is, however, that I don't really think about ships at all when I'm actually watching it.

Overall, when it comes to shipping, I'm usually with the mainstream (with the exception of Harry). 'Cause we all know how special Harry is. But I'm very open to anything, to any ships. Of course there are pairings that will stick to me and be my absolute favourites but I'm very willing to read anything, as long as its good.
