brightening your video player

I'm about a third of the way the through Smile Time on my computer and I'm suddenly reminded of why I hate to watch Angel on my computer.

It's dark as hell, even with the brightness buttons up full.

Is there some way to brighten what I'm seeing? I have Real Player and Windows Media.

There's always the adjust on the back of the monitor if you have it old school. If not, try fiddling with your video card options. But only if you know what you're doing.
