Because you know, everyone in that movie pronounces it the weird way. It's odd, because I do it too. If I'm talking about the place I tend to say "cuh-rib-be-an" but if I'm talking about the movie, I weirdly say "caer-i-be-an." I've decided this is weird, especially since I've heard other people do it too and I've seen some people mention it before.
Anyway, if someone else is interested in this, then it will get a nifty looking underline on our info pages, and become a link.

Date: 2004-04-10 08:10 pm (UTC)No, you're stressing every sillable with a heavy stress on the first, which is why it's the more awkward way. I find cuhribbean to be the more natural one, because it's said faster and smoother, with no emphasis on the first syllable.
