I still can't believe they included Rogue in Mystique's various "temptation" forms for Logan. I love that they did, but I can't believe that they did. I'm so used to movies (especially movies with this much draw of a younger audience) being tamed down, that for them to have that allowed that blatant suggestion of cradlerobbing to be included boggles me. Movies just don't do limit-testing things like that in uber-commercialized films.
It is sort of a continuation of the first movie. The first movie had a hundred times more UST between Rogue/Wolverine than between Wolverine/Jean. Still does, though the W/J chemistry did get a bit better this time around. But I thought that the R/W sexual tension could be rationalized away as an unintended result of the actors doing their thing and covered by the writers attempts at a W/J/Cyclops love triangle. The same thing in this film-- only now instead of just the actors gazing at each other, the UST has actually been written in.
Now, one could say that it was meant to be just Mystique freaking him out and it doesn't mean that there is any sexual attraction at all on Logan's part, and that Mystique was fishing for things to bait him with.
But come on. That just doesn't fly with the cast you've assembled here. Maybe if Hugh Jackman and Anna Pacquin had played it completely platonic and paternal from minute one of the first film, maybe that would fly. But the director just forgot to mention that or something I think.
That or the director wanted the semi-flirtation there as a contrast to the Jean/Wolverine thing... or maybe just to titilate the audience.
Either way, I'm surprised it got past all the censorship from the moneybackers.
And now I'm getting a desire to read Mystique/Wolverine NC17 fic of that scene with Wolverine/Rogue hints. Cause they never really explain why she went in there.
I guess she was just horny.
Oh well, good for her I guess. Get laid with a hot guy and take a moment to emotionally screw around with your enemy at the same time. Two birds with one stone.

"This Woman's Work"
I hold...
I hold you...
Pray to God you can cope.
I stand outside this woman's work,
This woman's world.
Ooh, it's hard on the man,
Now his part is over.
Now starts the craft of the father.
I know you have a little life in you yet.
I know you have a lot of strength left.
I know you have a little life in you yet.
I know you have a lot of strength left.
I should be crying, but I just can't let it show.
I should be hoping, but I can't stop thinking
Of all the things I should've said,
That I never said.
All the things we should've done,
That we never did.
All the things I should've given,
But I didn't.
Oh, darling, make it go,
Make it go away.
Give me these moments back.
Give them back to me.
Give me that little kiss.
Give me your hand.
I know you have a little life in you yet.
I know you have a lot of strength left.
I know you have a little life in you yet.
I know you have a lot of strength left.
I should be crying, but I just can't let it show.
I should be hoping, but I can't stop thinking
Of all the things we should've said,
That were never said.
All the things we should've done,
That we never did.
All the things that you needed from me.
All the things that you wanted for me.
All the things that I should've given,
But I didn't.
Oh, darling, make it go away.
Just make it go away now.

Her voice is beautifully suited to the song. I once made a Buffy/Spike icon set to it, a long long time ago:

Looking back, they're kind of amatuerish. But I still love that song for them. And for Vash/Meryl too, now.
