I named my C:\ drive "Hughes". I named my D:\ drive "Heart of Gold". My entire computer is named "Deep Thought".

If I'm not a fangirl of one thing, I'm a fangirl of another.

You don't know what it's already been through. At this point, it's so durable and capable and functional (I have like a gig of memory now!) that only great treachery from a trusted source (my multiple housemates, who seem so nice?) could hurt it now.

Plus it's an homage thing.
