You know what would make a pretty music video? Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake-- either "Sea" or "Finale"-- to the anime The Vision of Escaflowne.

I'd also love an FMA video to "The Battle of New Orleans." Unfortunately I don't know if that song even exists on the internet. I've never seen it anywhere. My mom has it on a 45 record-- it must be old.

Edit: or not. Because I just found it for free downloading on amazon.com.

Hm. This is not the same version my mom has on her record. But still, it's cool to listen to again.

The fact that you actually have this obscure old folksy song and coincidentally are also on my flist is really, really cool. ::is once again in awe of the possibilities of internet instant mass communication and fandom in total::

I would love to hear it. I'll send you the version I just downloaded, if you want to compare them. :)

Believe it or not, a bluegrass band made up of students from my school actually played that song at our school's Veterans' Day program last week. ^.^

What can I say? I'm a Southerner.

Awesome! This is the version I remember, I'm pretty sure. Is it the original?

I probably won't make a video for this (I have yet to make any vids-- I get ideas but I haven't tried yet), but I think I'll go make a few FMA icons to it right now.

Johnny Horton's version of the song became a hit in 1959, about a year before he died. I think there might have been a few versions before his, but his version is the most well-known by far.
