This afternoon I made 8 different animated icons in various colors and crop-positions.

Now, I have no idea what to do for text.

Suggestions? Vague or specific? Requests?

Quotes? Lyrics? Words? Shakespeare?

((Yes, I had to watch the Episode Of Crying Doom to make this icon. Expect another one later tonight.))

Ideas so far:

"Never Say goodbye" -Elton John

"Is there room for one more son?" - The Killers

"All our time slips away" - Tom McRae

"And the feeling coming from my bones
Says find a home" - White Stripes

"Never never change." - 'The Way You Look Tonight'

"We'll all float on" - Modest Mouse

"Even if you cannot hear my voice
I'll be right beside you"
"our long goodbye" - Snow Patrol

"Time will never change it" - Spice Girls

"You'll see me off in the distance, I hope
At the other end of the telescope." - Elvis Costello

"And I might stop and look upon your face"
"From the distance of passing cars"
"The long way back"
"Is this motion everlasting"
- Interpol

"I never said thank you for that,
now I'll never have a chance."
"On sleepless roads the sleepless go."
- Jimmy Eat World

Holy crap on a crappity crap crap, those are COOL. o_O

I think the dark blue one would look good with the line "I really wish I got to say goodbye" on it.

How did you make all of them? They're so clear!

I combine all the frames I want as layers of a psd. file for Adope Photoshop, then use Adobe ImageReady to make gif files. It allows for you to choose how many colors to use, and is really good at optimizing the colors to maintain high image clarity.

They're even better now. :) I fixed the magical jumping cloud problem.

I like the forth one best, followed by the second. As for text... good luck with figuring some out o_O This is why when I make icons the text is either tiny!text or textless. haha.

I think the icons without the clouds visible in the top right corner work better: that way you only see Ed's hair blowing and not the jerkily-moving-clouds.

They're gorgeous and make me wibble looking at them, though.

The lyrics don't exactly work, but this reminds me that I Don't Know What It Is reminds me of Ed. (Many Rufus songs remind me of Ed. That's...interesting.)

If I were really serious, I'd edit out the jerky clouds. But I'm lazy a purist!

My normal songs for Edward are "Seven Nation Army" and "All These Things That I've Done", neither of which really lend themselves to this icon.

I like the lyrics to this song, but they're a bit too literal, I think. Do you have this song in MP3? I'd love to hear it. :)

Turns out I'm not too lazy to fix those damn clouds after all.

Plus, fixing the clouds actually allowed me to increase the quality a bit because I was cutting out total pixels. :)

My song for Edward is I'll Carry On, by Rich Mullins (warning... this is a Christian song):

Here's the lyric I like for this pic:

I'm only afraid that my dreams may betray me
and I'll never get home again

Or the bridge:

though I can shoulder the future
I can brave the wind
oh, we go on, we go on
but we never get home again

I love my little Atheist Ed. But that doesn't mean I have to agree with his skeptical ass. :)
