I got all nostalgic and watched some of the last DVD of Trigun over lunch.

My favorite episode of Trigun is most definitely "Sin". Episode no. 24. I loved Legato's entire death scene, and how Cahs ended up shooting *execution* style, not like running or or in a fight or anything... shot point-blank through the forehead while on his knees. It was a very dramatic scene. Later I plan on going on in great detail on my opinons about the end of the series, and the philosphical themes and character dynamics and stuff. Cause I'm bored and I love that show.

Also, new icon! I was flipping through screen caps and this shot was just too good not to mock. Too bad it can't be bigger. ^-^

What was up with Vash at the end of Paradise and the beginning of Sin? It was like he didn't even care that Wolfwood died. If I didn't see him cry as he dropped the donuts, I woulda said this guy was just an empty smile. Sin totally rocked though. Legaaaaato Bluuuuuuuesummers is moving up there as my idol right behind Spike Spiegel. He totally punked out Vash by making him do the one thing he didn't want to do. Totally cool :)

Well, Vash has always been a mostly unhappy person with happy-go-lucky facade, but as you can see he's having trouble keeping it up after Wolfwood's death.

I loved "Sin"; I loved the entire death scene, and how it was alll orchestrated to make Vash kill someone, which Knives knew would make his brother "suffer eternal pain and suffering" from the guilt. Ha! Isn't Legato great? Meanie too though, using Chapel's arm to kill Wolfwood.

Did you like it in 5th Moon when Wolfwood just outright shot that other Gung-Ho Gun guy? Did you suspect that Wolfwood had a secret agenda from the beginning? I did, but all the way up to episode 23 I persisted in thinking that he was an assassin from his church, sent out to "take care of" the "menace to society" that was Vash.

Does this mean you're near to finished?

Hey there. I'm back, and yes, I've seen all of Trigun. And yes, Legato is totally bad ass. Makes me wonder why he was just a lackey for Knives when it looked like he could have totally forced Knives to eat that Angel gun of his :)

Sin was a great ep, but I think Paradise stands out more for me. Maybe because Wolfwood is kinda like a poor man's Spike Spiegel. Wolfwood's exit kinda teared me up, but I was so glad that Vash needed Wolfwood's help to take out Knives.

I don't remember Wolfwood shooting any Gung-Ho members in Fifth Moon. I do remember when he offs the kid in Alternative. I did not see that coming because I was thinking, 'Oh, here we go. Vash is gonna talk him out of his evilness. Again.' And then, BANG. Made me think, would I have not done the same thing Wolfwood did? I mean, he was going to shoot Vash. Right?

And I kinda figured out Wolfwood was a Gung-Ho gun because he never got as much gunfire poured on him like Vash did throughout the eps. But, that's just my paranoid nature I guess :)

Paradise holds a special place in my heart too (the whole last DVD does), because Wolfwood was my favorite character from Trigun. As to the Fifth Moon episode-- it was after Vash exploded the city. The japanese/samurai gung ho gun guy woke you in teh rubble, and talked for a few lines with Wolfwood, who was there sitting on his motorcycle. And then Wolfwood shot him. Very coolly, very calm. I'd already suspected from the start that something was up with Wolfwood's intentions, but that confirmed he wasn't just there for nothing. I didn't he'd be a Gung ho Gun specifically though, until they annouced in 23.

What broke my heart about the Wolfwood killing Zazie (Alternative kid), was the look that Milly gave him. That scene was wonderfully done, I thought, as was the relationship between W/Milly. There wasn't a lot of overt romance in the series, but when they came together in Paradise is wasn't surprising, just quietly appropriate. And I felt so horrible in the end when you could hear Milly screaming and crying. And the way Vash and Meryl looked as they listened...

:siiiiiigh: I'm a vash/meryl fan mostly though. I love them together, though there's not a lot of fic out there on the net for that ship, and I think I've read almost every one on ff.net.

Oh yeah. The samurai. I remember that ep now (sorry but I've only seen the eps once). Yeah, that was cool when Wolfwood offs him. I did see that one coming just based on Wolfwood's facial expression while the samurai's talking.

I'm okay with the Meryl/Vash ship but I did not see the Millie/Wolfwood ship coming. They were friendly and then, bam, she's spending the night in his room. Wha?

I thought it was led up to well-- they flirted a lot, and some episodes like Alternative definitely hinted at more. But you've only watched it once, whereas I had a chance to watch each episode more than one, as I got it, since there was considerable time between each new DVD/video I acquired.

Yeah, you're probably right. But I'm the type of guy that can't wait for installments. I'd rather get it all in one big gulp. Which is why Inuyasha is killing me because they're still making eps in Japan. I won't buy that collection until all the discs have been collected. Luckily for me, I don't mind importing since I'm a sub fan more than a dub fan (Cowboy Bebop being the exception of course :) )

well, you CAN download episodes of Inuyasha. I've seen up to epsiode 58, I think. Most of that in subbed on my computer. Eventually I stopped though (even though you can downaload up to 80+ epsiodes by now), becasue I got tired of knowing it, and wanted to enjoy the manga again via surprises.

Yeah, but last time I downloaded a series, I ended up getting a new hard drive because my drive crapped out. I'll wait for it to finish before I collect.
