Comms aside, if anyone ruins the end of the show for me... I was going to have some kind of terrible fucking creative threat here, but there's really nothing to do in the face of spoiler cruelty.

PLEASE DON'T.

My journal is not a friend of spoiler-talk when it comes to the end of what is, I sadly must admit, my favorite tv show of the moment. No hints, no smiley faces or crying... I DON'T EVEN WANT A FUCKING MOOD SPOILER.

...For everyone else on my friends-list... which is about 86%... sorry for the harsh language, folks! My little epic cartoon fandom is suffering from novelization-released-before-the-series-finale spoiler syndrome, which only comes after a bad case of Network Scheduling Rabies.

((squint)) Wait. There's a novelization of How It Ends? And the network has dicked around so much that the novel's out before It actually has Ended?

Urk. Anti-spoiler fans' worst bloody nightmare.

I hope folks respect your non-spoiler status and that you get to enjoy the series' end happily.

And the network has dicked around so much that the novel's out before It actually has Ended?

Remember how star wars fandom freaked out with Episode 1 because the soundtrack release a week early had "Qui-Gon's Funeral" as a song listing, and he was a major character?

This about 17 times nastier, since it won't be until July that the episodes air again, and probably not until September when the last episode airs.

I gave up on browsing ATLA fic at ff.net (except my author alerts) last week, and it looks like I won't be able to got back NOW for months. I'm also thinking about abstaining from all LJ comms... right now katara_zuko is modded, but everything else is tricky. Thank god I don't have [livejournal.com profile] avatar_fans on my list... they got bombed today by the same creep as two weeks ago.

You don't have to worry about me spoiling it for you, I don't use mood themes and I'd put anything behind a cut if I felt like going to check it out. (Which I just might, I'd rather spoil it for myself then let some asstard do it.)

Good to know!

I feel pretty confident in my ability to keep myself spoiler-free... most of my flist who watches avatar is considerate of spoiler stuff, and the only comm I'm really active in right now is currently on moderated entries and isn't allowing finale spoilers. And since I cut myself off of atla's ff.net section last week...if worst comes to worst I'll take a leave of absence from modding [livejournal.com profile] katara_zuko, but at the moment it seems to be okay.

I am SO with you on that. Dreading spoilers on the end of this series FAR more than anything else I'm into these days.

If I see so much as a :-O as a final reaction I'm going on lockdown. (And I won't see the eps until the DVD is released so it will be a LONG lockdown.)

Well, as of this week the DVDs are out for up to 3x15.

I've only seen up to 3x13, but 13x12 and 3x13 haven't even aired in America yet. 3x14 and 3x15 haven't aired ANYWHERE, but are being released on DVDs.

For whatever reason they delayed airing the episodes, and now the DVD and novel tie-ins are being released before the show airs.

SO UNFAIR!

I'll probably buy the 3x11-3x15 DVD sometime between now and July. Maybe.

mood spoiler as in what the end of it is like? ARGH I KNOW. It's like how people keep telling me I'll love Boiling Rock. I'LL MAKE UP MY OWN MIND ABOUT THAT THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

I'm too intuitive for my own good.

If someone tells me "finale: i'm crying!" then I'll be like "FUCKER NO, I CAN GUESS WHO DIED! DAMN YOU!" [fake example... except this actually happened to me in another anime.]

... and suddenly the dramatic ending seems anticlimactic. I know how dramatic finales go, and the slightest thing can hint me in the right direction.

Although, as a show ATLA's season 2 and 3 have been far less predictable than season 1 was. I fully expect to be surprised and delighted when the show ends. If I can stay unspoiled.

I think they sold their soul for movie rights and we get the backwash of their DVD milk.

I'm just glad I had the good sense to filter the people who've proven themselves to be Not Good With Spoilers in the past before the book went live.

Since I have less than a dozen people on my flist that I added directly from ATLA fandom, and most of the other avatar fans on my flist I knew in other fandoms before, I think I'm okay. I barely add people these days so I'm really picky about it.

I'm just glad that jade_sabre told me about the book two days ago; we were about to let katara_zuko go unmoderated again. And sure enough, [livejournal.com profile] truth_trolly tried to submit a huge spoiler post this afternoon.

Right here with you. Without the added spoiler options of running the biggest zutara com, right on the path for all the spoiler-jerks who like to torment other people.

... Novelization? Novelization. Wait, so how trustworthy is this novelization assuming that the series hasn't even ended!? Have you been spoiled yet? Badly?

Yeah, I don't think I'm about to end this fandom hiatus for a while yet. Would you happen to know any ATLA comms that filter out spoilers really effectively?

I have only been moderately spoiled for up to 3x15, and one 9 minute section of episode 3x17 that was shown at comic-on, very much out of context except for finalizing the life/death status of one past minor character.

The book tie-in (more of a novella) is very official... it would have timed with the original planned air dates of ATLA's finale episodes. It shows the final battle from the perspectives/POVs of each character in the gaang.

Hey, I just realized something... if they start airing the new eps July 14... that means that by Comic Con we'll be STILL waiting for the finale! And now that I'm completely spoiled, what are we going to talk about? XD

Seriously, though... it's going to be hard not getting spoiled in SDCC.

I'm sure I'll have caught up to BR and any aired episodes by then, and I have seen that whole "play within a play" 8 minute clip from the other convention, but I will be FIERCELY against knowing the end of the show.

::grabs irrel's hands::

Will... will you protect me?

...Actually conventions are probably a lot easier than the internet, since I can just not talk to people about the ATLA finale, and there will be so much else going on.

*heroic pose* With my life!

But... I plan to make me a Zutarian shirt, it probably won't be spoilery at all. I think you should be warned though XD

I've always been in favor of t-shirts, ask anybody! Especially on some of the people who attend conventions... don't think I'd want to see them without.
