Hm. Except for the two on the left, the American actors chosen aren't as cute as the British actors. At least, from this picture. They probably all look actor-great on the actual show.

I can't tell which one is Jeff but none of them look right for him. Jeff's saving grace as an attractive guy's that he's adorable enough looking that you can ignore the things he blurts out. But it's a boyish kind of immature look. None of these guys look like they could pull that off.

great. spontaneus nosebleed.

hate this. all wet and gross and blood-smelling. an I'm typing one-handed.

EDIT: I've now wntered the strange post-nosebleed period, where I no longer have to hold kleenex up to my nose, but where I'm still afraid to do anything like sneeze or breathe heavy for fear of starting it again.

Ok, so our governor is an asshat. He's a fuck-up in managing our budget and many months have proven this.

But they want a recall? Which would lead to a new election? Which could cost upwards of 15 millions dollars? In a state that's already massively in the deficit hole this year? Thank you, that's a brilliant plan. That's like... giving a lawyer 40 milllion dollars to lead a presidential impeachment that amounted to nothing but a handslap, on a topic that should have been private business in the first place. Thank you, Republican party, for ideas like this.

Watched episode 1.

Attractive opening and closing sequences, smooth and glossy animation over all.

Rather dark screen colors. Feels like watching Fight Club or the early seasons of The X Files. Everything's dark all the time.

I like Robin's wardrobe, but her hair annoys me. I'll get used to it.

Amon's character design reminds me of Angel from BTVS. And not in the good way. Still, the entrance scene where he landed right in front of the dude was pretty cool.

I'm curious to know what's so bad that these people have to be hunted down. So far in the first episode, we see the Witch Hunters attack, and the Witches just flee or retaliate. If they're captured, they're either killed or imprisoned. All seems very cold and brutal to me. I'm feelin' for "the other guys" here more than the protagonists.

Oh well, We'll see.

I wrote this three years ago, when I still thought people actually read the disclaimers on stories.

I would love to own the Highlander
But still never could I find the cur
Who sold me the show for two cents and a dime
Oh but the shame, it still never was mine!
That man was a fake by the name of Joe Dawson
He said, "Here take them!" and I thought I had caught one
But then in came the lawyers in their suits of bright blue
And hungry and broke into the jail I flew.
Never to see that cute Scotsman again
Oh what have I come to, o'er my stupid pen!

I installed Kazaa Lite Codec Pack on my computer. It didn't seem to do anything. So I uninstalled it, then installed Kazaa media desktop. I didn't like it. So I installed Kazaa Lite Codec pack again, hoping that it would do the things it promised in the readme file like give me Kazaa without the pop-up ads and with more bitrate search options, hoping that it would aomehow apply itself to Kazza, maybe.

So far, I don't see that Kazaa lite has had any affect on my computer whatsoever beyond a few more icons, and Kazaa doesn't seem to be worth the time.

I searched for something, and it gave me only a few responses, none of which actually started transfering. All I get is "more sources needed." The same search on WinMX just gave me a nice list of a few hundred results, and I could click and watch it start or be put on a queue list.

Why do people use Kazaa? How do you use it? Is it any fucking good to you, because all its dont' for me was give me ads but not give me any useful results to download.

You know what, I'm just going to uninstall it. I don't need this crap cluttering up my browser.

[livejournal.com profile] nautibitz has started a Spuffy AU fantasy fic. And I like it.

I rented Punch Drunk Love.

I stopped about 2/3 of the way through it out of boredom. I should have rented Adaptation.

Anyone really like Punch Drunk Love?

Now this is weird.

I was playing something on RealOnePlayer, which has worked well for me for a while now.

Then I installed Kazaa, and that accidentally gave me a different version of DivX than the one I had.

Then I got rid of Kazaa. But now RealOnePlayer won't play the same files. So I have to get an updated version of DivX. I get the R1P-suggested version of DivX 5.0.5.

Now I get picture, but no sound. And the Real One Player website says this is an error with my file.

But I know my file worked fine this morning.

I think I'm going to try to do that back-erase thing where I can reset all the programs in my computer to the way they were yesterday. I'll have to reinstall Kazaa-Lite, but I wasn't getting much out of it anyway.

EDIT: Dammit! I did the "Sytem Restore" thing, and it still says "Some of the streams in this movie are in an unsupported format." It was playing this file this MORNING! And now it won't play sound for any of the other movie files that I downloaded from the same source. Fuck.

So, in a brief flicker of creative problem-solving genius, I tried opening up my Witch Hunter Robin avi file in MediaPlayer instead of Real One Player. Now remember, for me MediaPlayer still has this bizarre tonal distortion thing going on with the sound, so I didn't expect it to work anyway. But it opened, and asked if I wanted to download a plug-in that would fix the problem. I said yes. Then I tried opening the file up again in RealPlayer.

Now, I get sound. Mediaplayer is stil distorted, but it's present. RealPlayer sounds fine.

This was all very confusing. But it works now, so.... that's it for tonight.
