Did you ever get my DLM package? :)

Yes I did! I was going to email you to say thank you tomorrow. I got it on Friday (It was waiting for me on Wednesday but I missed the pick-up window at the campus housing office) but haven't been able to watch it till tonight. I am so grateful. And hey, I finally know now why Ray died.

So... do gravelings appear when a reaper kills someone? And Daisy has seen/done that before?

Or are gravelings the souls of really twisted individuals?

my guess is that if a reaper commits murder, they create a graveling. And Daisy seemed like she has seen it happen before. I still think Daisy's 'sister' has something to do with that hauntedness/blindess Daisy has about men and her behavior, or the sister could stand in for herself...

I don't think it's so much a moral issue with DLM, even though Ray was scum.

even though Ray was scum.

I thought he was an asshole pretty much from the first moment, and then thought "WARNING, WARNING!" when he hit the guy with the poolstick.

I'm really feeling sorry for Mason lately. No wonder he thought it was his last call-- he's depressed in a bad way.

Oh well, onto episode 14!

George took its soul. Awesome.

I love how George and Mason are so comfortable around each other.

eww... serial killer. That's sad.

I love Mason. Mason Mason Mason. He's the most soft-hearted of all of them.

I noticed that George sad "ollie ollie oxen free" at the end of 2.14. That fascinates me-- I've never heard someone say that out loud that I can remember beyond my parents, at least not since I was a kid. If its used with hide and seek, I don't remember when you're supposed to say it. Or what it means. But it was cool to hear.

I googled it and got this:

Yeah, I saw those actually. I didn't stop watching until they started straying from the manga. Oh why did they stray from the manga? And don't even get me started on FMA. They just shuffled everything into a hat for that one.

I didn't stop watching until they started straying from the manga.

When was that, precisely? I'm slowly but surely buying the volumes as they came out, but if I knew the point at which they really start to differ I might jump ahead and read the scantalations from that point, to kill time until I can buy it.

And don't even get me started on FMA. They just shuffled everything into a hat for that one.

Plotwise, yeah, it differs greatly, but I don't agree that it's a bad thing. The manga is not always better. Personally I've only read the beginning of the FMA manga, and that seemed relatively close to me, and I didn't think it was better or worse than the anime. But I know you've only been reading the summaries for the episodes-- I have to tell you that having seen the whole thing myself and loving it as much as I do, I am skeptical about your opinion because of the fact that you have never actually watched the episodes except the last one.

But mostly I don't really get into the anime v. manga department in general, because I tend not to care. I like both mediums and I don't believe in the idea that the whichever one came first is the "true" one-- if a manga is made into an anime, that anime is a creature of its own, made by diffrent people. The LotR book was created by Tolkein, but no one's going to argue that the LOTR movie isn't Peter Jackson's baby. The opposite is true too. You have to look at them separately. It doesn't matter if something follows the first incarnation directly as long as its good and as long as the writers don't promise you otherwise. I don't go into anime or manga expecting a series to be totally loyal to its source. I just care if I like it or not.

I saw 32 over the weekend...man, this show is too much!. And it was nice to see Sakura finally do something.

I don't think a show has ever hooked me as fast as this one.

I saw a 15 episode marathon of FMA in one night and that hooked me, so I guess that's the fastest for me-- in terms of actual time.

But yeah, Naruto got me early on too. I am madly addicted. Enjoy episode 33!
